Find an Advocate
Let down, feeling unsafe, failed by a NDIS provider
Sometimes organisations and individuals, including the NDIS, make genuine mistakes or they have been unable explain clearly why a particular course of action was necessary, whether that be due to funding restrictions, circumstances outside of their control or NDIS requirement and process.
Sometimes information and advice provided by other parties in public forums i.e. Facebook, may be out of date or just incorrect.
Diversitas WA prides itself on being open, honest and transparent and we recognise that independent advocacy services can offer support and advice without any perception of a conflict of interest.
Support Coordinators cannot use NDIS funding for advocacy but we will ensure we gather all evidence required for any change of situations for the clients we serve.
There are a number of independent advocacy services listed through the NDIS website
https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/resources/find-assistance/find-advocate or you can speak to your support coordinator for further information.

Your Right to be Safe – Always
You have the right to feel safe and receive good quality service from your providers. There are rules for registered NDIS providers to make sure this happens.
If you feel unsafe or unhappy with the services you are receiving from Diversitas WA – or any other registered or unregistered provider, it’s always okay to speak up.
As a registered NDIS Provider, Diversitas WA is obliged as part of our Registration with NDIS to Report Incidents to them in certain circumstances.
What are the Circumstances?
Why do providers have to report incidents?
As a NDIS Provider Diversitas WA, has to record and manage incidents so that:
-You are immediately safe
-You receive a quality service
– You have your rights protected
– We improve our Services all the time
– We comply with NDIS Registration Requirements
Diversitas WA must record and manage all incidents in our own system. We must also tell the NDIS Commission about reportable incidents.
Working together, we may also need to tell other organisations too. This might include the police or other protective services.
Diversitas WA will make sure we remain open and transparent with clients and all stakeholders to ensure your safety is not compromised.
